Alta Video — 2044: Vulnerability in golang.org/x/crypto where SSH clients receiving SSH_AGENT_SUCCESS when expecting a typed response will panic

Overview

A vulnerability was identified in Go's golang.org/x/crypto SSH clients. Specifically, SSH clients receiving SSH_AGENT_SUCCESS when expecting a typed response will panic and cause early termination of the client process. The vulnerability was considered low risk due to the affected SSH clients running as separate processes.

Affected Products

  • Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras:
    • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 8.1.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 8.1.0.

Unaffected Products

  • Alta Video: all versions.

  • Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras:

    • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 8.1.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 8.1.0.
  • Alta Video Cloud: all versions.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Avigilon Cloud-Native Cameras Beta upgrade channel version 8.1.0 and Stable upgrade channel version 8.1.5.

It is [recommended|strongly recommended|highly recommended|crucial] that all Avigilon Cloud-Native camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video User Interface for Avigilon Cloud-Native cameras and the Avigilon Cloud-Native Camera Interface for unmanaged cameras.
